We revolutionized the gasket industry around forty years ago, with our product development capabilities by introducing the steel laminated gasket which has registered as outstanding epoch-making historical turning point for industrial technology at the National Science Museum.

President message

The gaskets support the heart of the engine for all vehicles.
Inside the engine, the gasket made of different materials are combined, it is extremely important to prevent gas and liquid from leaking. Although rarely on the front stage, we have continued to challenge and grow cars and engines that are being produced one after another.

Our company was founded in 1932 by my grandfather Katsushiro Ishikawa.
"I should produce full-scale gaskets that made in Japan!" came up with in his mind. Automobiles made in the United States were still the main products and repair parts are only imported products at that time. He tried to produce to make metal gaskets ahead of the world. Its great achievement is exhibited in the National Museum of Nature and Science as the history of industrial technology.
My father, Itsuo Ishikawa, promoted direct delivery to automobile manufacturers and the development of overseas markets, and greatly spread this value. Cherry gaskets are now highly regarded in 60 countries around the world as a reliable brand.

Now I have taken over the company , the industry has changed and a new era of engines has begun.
The high power diesel engines help people's lives in hard places around the world, such as fishing boats in the open sea, snowplows in snowy countries, and water supply facilities in the desert.
The gaskets cannot be tolerated of defects or defects, and are constantly updated at the top.
We will firmly fulfill our mission as a manufacturer and continue to manufacture products with trust and innovation.

OUR STORY

'1932	Founded by Katsushiro Ishikawa.
'1936	Reorganized as a Corporation Limited. Trad mark "CHERRY" registered.
'1950	Certified as a Class-A Manufacturer by the Automotive Parts Manufacturers Accreditation Council of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
'1955	Designated as a O.E.supplier to the Japanese National Railways Corp. for the diesel engine gaskets.
'1970	Dynamic testing system is installed. Steel-laminated gasket is developed.
'1971	Paid-in Capital increased to 100 million yen. Obtain capital participation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Investment Co.
'1972	Cherry Chemical Industry Ltd. established.
'1973	Cheena Gasket Co., Ltd. established in Thailand as a joint-venture company. Head ofiice Toranomon Sakura Building completed.
'1974	Utsunomiya Plant established.
'1975	Development and mass production of heat insulators began to comply with air pollution control regulations.
'1981	New R & D building for gasket performance testing completed. Provided technical know-how of manufacturing gaskets and compressed sheets to Yantai Products factory in Republic of China.
'1982	Celebrated the 50th anniversary of establishment. Increased the capital to 200 million yen.
'1985	Became O.E.supplier to General Motors Corporation of the United States. Signed a joint development agreement for synthetic fiber gasket materials with Armstrong Company of the United States.
'1987	Signed a joint development agreement for Rubber coated metal gasket materials with Wolverine Gasket & Mfg. Co. of the United States.
'1989	Steel laminate gasket (metal laminated type) won the 14th Invention Award. Kiyohara Plant (Utsunomiya,Tochigi) starts full operation. Cherry Technica Co., Ltd. established.
'1990	President Itsuo Ishikawa received the "Science and Technology Promotion Achievement Minister's Award'' for his contribution to the development of industrial technology. Became O.E.supplier to the Ford Motor Company of the United States.
'1991	Received “The Medium and Small Business Research Insutiture. Award” for practical application of steel laminate gaskets. Yantai Ishikawa Gasket Co.,Ltd. established in China as a joint-venture company. ISHIKAWA GASKET AMERICA, INC. established in Detroit, Ohio in the U.S.A.
'1992	Celebrated the 60th anniversary of establishment. Became O.E.supplier to Hyundai Motor Company in Korea.
'1994	Technical Research and Development facility established.
'1996	ISO 9001 and QS-9000 acquired.
'1997	Shinichiro Ishikawa was appointed as president. Received “The Medium and Small Business Research Insutiture. Award” for practical application of steel laminate gaskets of all Japan.
'1999	All gaskets production for FORD/America was completely transferred to ISHIKAWA-GASKET/America.
'2000	Opened the Torino branch in Italy.
'2003	ISO 14001 acquired.
'2004	ISO/TS 16949 acquired.
'2006	Selected as one of the ``300 Vibrant Manufacturing Small and Medium Enterprises'' and received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award.
'2009	Closed the Osaka branch and integrated it into the head office sales department. Closed Senju factory and production transferred to Utsunomiya factory and Kiyohara factory.
'2010	We won the prize of Tokyo governor in the competition of “Human Resource Development for Creative Design and manufacturing”
'2012	Celebrated the 80th anniversary of establishment.
'2013	Pre-coat line completed at the Kiyohara Plant.
'2017	Pre-coat line began at the Kiyohara Plant.
'2018	IATF 16949 acquired.
'2021	Began to supply Current Collector Plate for a Fuel Cell Stack.
'2022	Opened the Osaka branch. Celebrated the 90th anniversary of establishment.
'2023	Kitsuregawa Plant established.
'2024	Yashio Office established.
